All individuals applying for a new passport, as well as for a renewal passport, must include an approved passport photograph. The passport photograph cannot be a personal photograph, but must meet the strict requirements by the U.S. Department of State. Several passport acceptance facilities will take and print a passport photo when you turn in an application. However, WalMart will take and print passport photos at the Walmart Photo Center for a price often much lower than the passport acceptance facility.
Step 1
Locate the closest Walmart and confirm that the location has a photo center and that it is not closed for renovations.
Step 2
Prepare for your passport photo. Your hair should not cover your face and you are only permitted to wear glasses or a hearing aid if you have a prescription. The photograph should be taken within six months of the time that you turn your passport application in.
Step 3
Go to Walmart's Photo Center and ask a photo specialist to help you with your passport photo.
Step 4
Have your picture taken. Walmart will provide a passport-approved background. Keep a neutral face and make sure that both eyes are open.
Step 5
Wait for the photographs to be printed and pay for your passport photo. Confirm that the photographs meet all U.S. Department of State passport photo standards.
